Amer Fort Rajasthan
As the name suggests, Amer Fort is located in Amer, Rajasthan and it is 11kms from Jaipur. It is called by several names like Amber Fort, Amber Palace etc. It was built by Meenas first and then ruled by Raja Man Singh. This fort is known for its artistic elements. It is one of the famous tourist spots.

History:
Over 150 years, this fort underwent improvements and changes. The construction started in 1592 by Raja Kakil Dev. The current structure was created in 16th century. Many of the ancient structures have been either destroyed or replaced. Howeveredifice of the Amer Fort and the palace complex within it built by the Rajput Maharajas are very well preserved.
Architecture:
There are six section and each has its own main gate. The fort is constructed of red sandstone and white marble. Dil-e-Aaram Garden is the entrance of the Amber fort. There are two halls, Diwan-e-Am and Diwan-e-khas. Diwan-e-Am was to address public by Shah Jahan and Diwan-e-khas was built to discuss foreign matters.Jai Mandir and Sheesh Mahal are the attraction points. While the Jai Mandir is structured with Mughal and Rajput style of architecture, the Sheesh Mahal has walls with beautiful mirrors.

Jagat Shiromani Temple – This temple is situated in Amer and was built under the orders of Raja Man Singh’s wife Queen Kankawatibetween 1599 and 1608 AD. It is just 0.4km from Amer Fort.
Jal Mahal - Located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake Raja Jai Singh built this palace in 18th century for his residence. It is around 1.9km from Amer. There are boats to reach to the Jal Mahal.
