Jaipur, the Pink city known for its buildings is 268kms. from the national capital of India, New Delhi. As per the history, it was painted pink to welcome HRH Albert Edward, prince of Wales in 1876. It is one of the popular tourist destination in India.
The royalty and wonderful monuments are the centre of attraction of Jaipur. Along with that, the shopping places work as cherry on top. This city has a lot to offer to the tourists who travel, in terms of culture, sightseeing and activities. To reach out this place, Jaipur junction railway station is the nearby railhead to Jaipur city. It is 2kms away and takes 5 minutes via road. The interstate bus terminal is also at a close by distance to the railway road.
In Jaipur, three seasons are there, a warm dry winter, summer and monsoon. Since, Jaipur is situated in semi-dessert region, there is only one season which is good to visit this beautiful place and that is during winters from early November to February. Long hot summer should not be in option as intense heat combined with dust and pollution makes this place unbearable.
The Havelis, Forts & Museums are the tourist spots. Places like Amer Fort, situated 11km from Jaipur, Hawa Mahal at the intersection Johri Bazar etc. are not to miss destinations.
Amer Fort is an artistic fort with pink and yellow stand stone. It has large ramparts and gateways. It needs 2-3 hours to visit this place, as it has a huge area to explore.
City palace is the main palace from where the Maharaja reigned from. It has courtyards, buildings and gardens to look at.
Hawa Mahal is at the intersection of Jaipur main road. It has a unique structure with small windows welcoming the wind.
Jal Mahal or Water palace is in the centre if the Sagar Lake and was shooting lodge for the Maharajas. The view which catches your sight about this place is that while one storey appears above water, there are 4 storeys submerged underneath.
Amrapali Museum is one of the gem of Jaipur sites. It displays ancient and beautiful jewels and different styles of Indian jewellery art. They have a collection of all these valuable ornaments.
Without food, every travelling is incomplete, so there are famous restaurants and Bazaars where one can calm their hunger. Bapu Bazaar is specially known for its shopping market and is one of the famous markets. It is situated in the heart of pink city and offers textiles, handicrafts and precious stones etc.
