Mukteshwar Beautiful Village in Nainital
Mukteshwar is a beautiful village in Nainital, situated at a height of 2,285 mts above sea level. It was named after the 350 year old Shiva temple called Mukteshwar Dham. This temple sits at the highest spot in town. Apart from the mesmerizing views, this town has adventurous activities like rock climbing and rappelling to offer. The weather is pleasant all the time here. In summers the nights are cooler and the days are warm. The ideal time to visit this place is from March to May, which is summers. However the monsoon season is not that good to travel. For those who love to see mountains draped in snow, one can travel in the months of November to February.

This location is 1.5 km from Mukteshwar and it is 250 m from the Mukteshwar Temple. This place is a perfect location for nature lovers and photographers. It is believed by the locals that a goddess and a demon fought at this site and therefore it holds a religious significance.
Mukteshwar Temple –
Timings: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
It is an ancient 350 years old temple and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. There are idols of Lord Vishnu, Ganesha, Brahma, Parvati etc. with a white marble Shiva Linga. For photographers this is a perfect location to shoot, as the temple is really at a good height. One can even trek to the temple and the journey up to that temple is really beautiful as the hill is covered with fruits orchards and forests.
Sitla – It is a 6000 ft high hill station and it is famous for its colonial style bungalows. Panchachuli, Trishul and Nanda Devi are the peaks one can view from this place. The travellers can experience bird watching and trekking that are arranged by the resorts there.

It is a university which was established in 1885 and covers an area of 3450 acres of land in Mukteshwar. It is situated at the height of 7620 ft. on the intersection of Gagar and Lohaghat ranges.
