Sattal group of seven freshwater lakes near Bhimtal
Sattal, as name suggests is an interconnected group of seven freshwater lakes. It is situated near Bhimtal, a town of the Nainital district in Uttarakhand. This lake is one of the purest lakes in India. It is home for 500 species of resident and migratory birds, 20 species of mammals, over 525 species of butterflies and over 11,000 species of moths, beetles, bugs and other insects. There are varieties of fishes like Mahseers, Labeo rohita, Cirrhinus, mrigala, Schizothorax richardsonii and Catla catla.

For the visitors who want to visit this destination when it is less crowded, then travelling in off season is better option. Also, it is cheaper at that time to travel. However, the best timeto visit is from the month of March to May and from December to January.
