Since during monsoon, there is heavy rainfall and possibilities of landslides, one should avoid going during that time. Summers are pleasant and perfect for trekking, camping and rafting. However, if you wish to play in snow then winters around December to February are fit to go. One must visit this place during winters as it is at its best during this season. Blanket of snow covering mountains makes it a flattering sightseeing.
To reach this place, Kolka railway station is the nearest railhead connecting Shimla to neighbouring cities. It is situated at a distance of around 96km from Delhi. There are several number of trains available from the capital of India.

Jakhu Temple is at the Shivalik hill ranges on Jakhoo Hill which is the highest point in Shimla. It is known because it has the world's largest Hanuman statue which is visible from almost every part of Shimla.
